Suicides are surging among America’s troops, averaging nearly one a day this year — the fastest pace in the nation’s decade of war.
The 154 suicides for active-duty troops in the first 155 days of the year far outdistance the U.S. forces killed in action in Afghanistan — about 50 percent more — according to Pentagon statistics obtained by The Associated Press.
Hayden’s Note:
Over the last several years, I’ve written numerous times on new records being broken in regard to soldier suicides. It is heartbreaking to hear of the situation that many young men and women find themsevles in, unable to question their surroundings and suckered into fighting for a Banker’s War. I hear many times, “I support the troops…but not the war.” Well, that’s just like saying, “I’m no fan of Hitler and the 3rd Reich, but I support the troops and the SS officers.” Give me a break. If you are a soldier in or out of theater, start questioning your orders. If you have loved ones deployed, start asking why they are over there.
I assure you, it isn’t to “protect our freedoms” here at home. Since the wars started, my freedoms have not increased in the slightest. In fact, my freedoms have diminished greatly with the passing of legislation such as the Patriot Act, the NDAA, forced government healthcare, UN mandates, and an increased police state. They have not protected ANY of MY freedoms, and I’ll bet that the mothers and children in Pakistan, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya don’t feel as though the drone strikes are increasing their freedoms or security, either.
The numbers reflect a military burdened with wartime demands from Iraq and Afghanistan that have taken a greater toll than foreseen a decade ago. The military also is struggling with increased sexual assaults, alcohol abuse, domestic violence and other misbehavior.
